Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Stength: 15-20kts
Surf / Sea State: Flat to choppy
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: sunny
Max Speed: 26.04 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 15.3 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

First sail since Dec, nearly 6mths so was expecting the worse for wear. Steve, Pete was resting as arrived 1pm ish to sunny F4 maybe 15kts. Tide was around 1/2 height coming in so all looking great. Rigged 146 JP pro/ 7.8 E type, under guidance from the boys although worried as am lot heavier than Pete on 7.8. Didn't fancy 8.5. Fortunately after 6mths, just the odd thing corroded/jam on rigging.
Another couple of sailors out on small kit. My first run was on a gust and decided to warm up the GPS, so took it and flew off downwind knowing its a long way back up. I knew I wouldn't last long, so great on first run hit 26.04kts running pretty broad and losing 3 groynes down wind. I felt quick so haven't lost much due to weight 1/2 stone weight gain. Flattened the excellent North E type sail and tried to better it but 25kts runs got tiring, so stopped speed sailing and just enjoyed the day back and forth between a few waves up by the river markers. I hate high water at the dip, as it chopped up a bit and no beach, so pack up about 4pm ish. Only 50% gybe rate, but had some nice ride coming off waves faces, a few beats to the kite zones, which was rough. Very nice sunny sailing day for 2/3hrs and felt fit due to winter training in the gym. However my grip was poor so you cant beat time on the water. Ian / Mark were out sailing great along with Steve when I packed up. The wind eased a bit by 4.30 but still planeable. Cant wait to rip the NE winds in flat water kite zone on low tide. North forecast Friday so hope to torch the GT31 on the flat water at Bradfield with Pete / Steve and Ian. Maker we miss you mate, dump Wales and come back the Blighty!
Steam/Sauna room got rid of the lactic at 7pm ;)
